Director, Advertising Solutions – Yahoo! Front Door

The Advertising Solutions Director is an online marketing expert responsible for monetizing the Yahoo! Network by partnering with our various business units/products to develop world-class advertising products and programs. By leveraging your strong online advertising and media expertise, creativity and strategic vision, you will drive advertising revenue by creating compelling value propositions and communicating persuasive stories to the Yahoo! sales force and clients. The desired candidate has a successful track record developing marketing and advertising solutions for Fortune 500 companies.
 
Job Responsibilities include:
 
    * Acting as the advertising business owner for the Yahoo! Homepage, My Yahoo! and Yahoo! Buzz suite of advertising programs

    * Overseeing a combination of strategic and tactical initiatives instrumental in driving Homepage, My and Y! Buzz advertising revenue

    * Managing a team of individual contributors with oversight of their career development and day-to-day job execution

    * Developing strong relationships with the Homepage / My / Buzz business unit / Product teams as well as Sales stakeholders and acting as a liaison between the business units and Sales by effectively communicating advertiser input

    * Participating in the development and execution of the long-term advertising strategy for the Yahoo! Homepage, My Y! and Y! Buzz

    * Leading the Homepage, My and Y! Buzz Ad Solutions team to develop sales collateral and customer-centric marketing programs for the Yahoo! field and inside sales organizations balanced with the priorities and goals of the Yahoo! Homepage.

    * Leverage the internal Sales training organization to evangelize and train Sales on Homepage, My and Buzz ad programs

    * Work closely with our pricing and yield management organization on rate card development and selling model strategies

    * Provide insight into BU financial models, annual goals and planning on a quarterly basis
 
Job Requirements include:
 
    * Minimum of 8 years combined media sales, marketing programs or advertising agency experience with at least 5 of those years in the online advertising space

    * Experience and a passion for the online advertising industry

    * A proven track record translating marketing objectives into programs and results for advertisers

    * Management experience

    * Exceptional understanding of the needs of a broad set of marketers and marketing best practices and how to leverage qualitative and quantitative information to create persuasive sales materials

    * The ability to manage multiple internal relationships and manage through conflict, driving groups to collective business decisions

    * Excellent oral and written communication, negotiation and presentation skills

    * Creative thinker

    * Highly detail oriented and proactive

    * Sense of humor in a high pressure environment

    * Competency in reviewing and providing input into business models / financial plans

    * Baseline understanding of sales operations

    * Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Access Databases

    * Competency in reviewing and responding to 3rd party research

    * BA/BS required, MBA desired
