Program Manager - COTA
The Therapy Program Manager is responsible for the overall management of the rehabilitation department.Responsibilities include monitoring admissions and treatment schedules, tracking MDS assessment periods and data and monitoring productivity levels within the department. Ensures open communication with the EnduraCare regional team, facility leaders and physicians, and serves as a liaison between EnduraCare and facility administrators.
Responsibilities:
Checks regularly with nursing and admissions departments of possible new admissions to ensure timely evaluations.
Monitors patient screening practices in accordance with clinical policy and procedures.Performs EnduraCare screen and informs rehabilitation staff of patient status.
Tracks MDS Assessment Period Data to include:number of disciplines treating, treatment days per week, and daily treatment time.Communicates data to appropriate facility personnel.
Reviews resident specific RUG category per assessment period and/or coordinates change in MDS according to facility procedures.
Ensures compliance with data entry for PPS resource utilization, CPT coding and labor log entry daily.Monitors all treatment minutes daily.
Monitors manual and/or computerized tracking and billing systems and for implementing changes that may be necessary.
Monitors patient and staff schedules to ensure efficient and effective departmental operations.
Conducts rehabilitative department meetings as needed to include:patient care review, schedule and coverage issues, and department issues.
Assists Area Manager with discipline specific orientation of all new staff.
Assists Area Manager in providing adequate coverage for therapy services when staff is absent to due PTO, leave of absence, illness, etc.
Assists Area Manager with documentation reviews of all disciplines as requested to ensure quality assurance.
Generates special reports/data as needed to assist the Area Manager and or Regional Vice President in assessing the efficiency of operations.
Submits weekly/monthly statistics to the regional office as scheduled.
Communicates and interacts with facility personnel to ensure continued satisfaction with delivery of care.
Manages a caseload in accordance with established standards.
Adheres to department procedures regarding documentation of services provided.
Provides in-service education to the members of the residents care team and education to the community as needed.
Attends in-service meetings and facility meetings as required.
Assumes responsibility for ongoing continuing education.
Reports to work on time and coordinates schedule to achieve maximum productivity and efficiency during assigned shift.
Maintains safe and clean work area and adheres to facility/company safety standards.
Complies with all Infection Control, Universal Precautions and OSHA standards for the healthcare professional.
Maintains a positive relationship and rapport with coworkers, residents, family members and facility personnel.
Assists with and participates in quality assurance programs as required.
Adheres to established confidentiality standards.
Projects a positive and professional image at all times.
Program Manager - COTA Requirements:
Bachelor of Arts, Science Degree, or Masters Degree in an allied health field with one year of experience, or an Associate Degree in an allied health field with a minimum of three years experience.
Current State Licensure.
