* The Plant Lean Expert will be a resource of lean expertise for a manufacturing site and will lead the change process through design and implementation of Lean using cross-functional teams
Principle Accountabilities:
* Coordinates floor roll-out of tools and model line activities at the assigned plant
* Drives core team/champion problem solving on discrete ideas
* Leads continuous improvement initiatives
* Primary source of Lean, trainer for lean tools in Toyota Production System during plant transformation and continuous improvement efforts (e.g., material flow, pull systems, line balance, etc); builds capabilities using hands-on application and written materials
* Coaches supervisors and team leaders in problem solving and performance management (e.g., 5-Why, fishbone, etc)
* Interacts with all functions of a site operation (e.g., purchasing, product development, etc)
* Evaluates current-state plant layouts and develops future state designs using the principles of Lean manufacturing

* Possesses an action-oriented approach
* Performance attributes: self-starter; positive, willingness to ask questions
* Intrinsics to break problem into manageable parts and initiate analyses
* Ability to brainstorm and collaboratively solve discrete problems with peers
* Willingness to embrace new concepts and translate into impact
* Understands and has implemented elements of the Toyota Production System
* Fundamental computer skills (e.g., MS Word/Excel basics, inter-/intranet, etc)
* Simple skill transfer experience
* Basic knowledge of current metrics and systems in home plant
Education/Experience:
* This position requires a Bachelor's degree (preferably mechanical, industrial or manufacturing engineering) or technical education/experience.
* Lean Manufacturing experience is preferred. Six Sigma Green- or Black-Belt certification a bonus.
