Job Scope
Responsible for performing functions related to technical accounting and controls, including research and documentation of technical accounting matters, resolving financial controls issues for corporate and global business lines, and participating in M & A due diligence and integration initiatives.
Essential Duties
May include but not limited to the following:
Works with operating units to assess and remediate control deficiencies
Performs technical accounting research and prepares technical accounting memos documenting the Company’s accounting positions.
Performs due diligence and integration work on M & A initiatives, representing Corporate F & A
Assesses and resolves business line and geography accounting issues in partnership with operating unit F & A staff.
Performs project work and may handle multiple project assignments simultaneously.
May work independently or as part of a team on assigned projects.
Requirements
Knowledge:
Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and techniques including:
Percentage-of-Completion Accounting Method
Acquisition Method Accounting SFAS 141 (R)
Technical accounting research and memo preparation
Sarbanes-Oxley and FCPA controls
Skills and Abilities:
Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
Public Accounting engagement experience with large public companies
Knowledge of computer systems and their applications
Excellent problem-solving skills
Excellent analytical and written communication skills
Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, 6 – 9 years public accounting experience up to the senior management level, CPA is required. Solid GPA from a top accounting school with strong references may offset years of experience requirement.
