Description: Senior Manager
The Raytheon Missile Systems (RMS) Middle East, Africa, and Pakistan (MEAP) Business Development Manager will reside in Abu Dhabi, UAE and have primary responsibility for maintaining RMS strategic relationships with government customers and key industrial partners throughout the MEAP region. Primary responsibility will be organizing, maintaining, improving, and focusing all aspects of Raytheons resources for the achievement of growth. As the senior RMS Business Development leader for the region, this individual will serve externally as the primary interface for Raytheons missile/weapons systems customers and internally as the senior voice of the customer. Ensure that key pursuits are won and that RMS achieves its bookings plan and growth targets in region.
Job Description: RMS Business Development Middle East, Africa, and Pakistan (MEAP)
Responsible for maintaining a Raytheon Missile Systems presence in the MEAP region and promoting Raytheon solutions for Missile Defense, Directed Energy, Land/Naval/Air Warfare mission areas; integrating and capturing RMS-wide defense solutions, working with leadership teams to ensure market share growth. Assist in the development and execution of RMS MEAP business strategies in cooperation with the Raytheon International Inc. (RII) Regional Executive, members of RII staff, RMS Product Line Business Development and other Raytheon Business Units.
As the RMS business development representative assigned in the region, must be capable of independently determining priorities, interpreting and applying company policies, establishing and executing long-term strategic goals, and recommending organizational objectives for desired results. Will determine, establish, and manage RMS post sale follow-on presence. Ensure coordination and execution of RMS public relations strategy to achieve measurable goals and objectives. Will serve as the RMS spokesman in the region on matters of significance to the business.
Accountable for the successful management, development, and implementation of growth strategies for the RMS portfolio of defense and security products into the MEAP regional market in line with RMS strategic goals and five year operation plans. Fully understand and advise RMS on regional procurement policies and work within those systems to influence a positive outcome for Raytheon. Will represent RMS leadership to the highest levels of the national governments, defense communities, industry, and associated organizations. Must be capable of leading or conducting informational, technical, and business partnering briefings to peer levels across government, military and business spectrum.
Collaborate with RMS and RII Country Managers to direct in-country activities with appropriate US Government offices and country teams to garner and sustain their support. Develop strategies to obtain required Department of State export licenses to market products in the region in light of government-to-government dialogues and advise on appropriate strategies for contract negotiations. Work with business areas to identify and qualify high-level industry partners; direct in-country lobbying efforts; and
present a consistent RMS marketing strategy to the engaged governments. Propose and develop future positioning strategies to achieve business growth objectives.
Required Skills:
· Must have significant international business experience; program management, technical and business development leadership experience is highly desired
· Knowledge of US/MEAP government acquisition and budgeting processes
· Familiarity with USG foreign and security policies in the region, including USG export requirements (ITAR, etc.) and procedures (FMS, etc.).
· Must have broad knowledge of industry products/capabilities and the ability to communicate effectively to executive level audiences in writing and in person
· Have experience working with US Embassy teams and Ministries of Defense in foreign countries
·Strategic perspective to identify potential Raytheon growth opportunities within the region
· Able to develop business plans for long term growth in the covered countries market by using personal contacts and assessing all available market data
· Minimum of twelve (12) years of experience in international business combined with equivalent defense industry experience
· Demonstrated success in strategic planning and ability to analyze and evaluate missions, requirements, technologies and capabilities
· Superior ethical standards beyond reproach
· Substantial MEAP regional travel is expected
Desirable Skills:
· General management or program leadership responsibility
· General knowledge of Raytheons organization, products, services, and policies
· Advanced degree or experience in business or relevant technical field preferred
Degrees:
· BA or BS required; MA or MBA desirable
· Majors: Engineering, Business Administration, Economics or International Affairs
