Position SummaryThis Senior Manager, Digital Media Strategy and Production oversees the assigned Line of Business relationship, the budget for related sites, and the management of a production team charged with building and maintaining assigned sites. The Sr. Manager plays a critical role in developing key strategies and vision in partnership with the lines of business. This position requires excellent client services and management skills and calls for a strong understanding of Internet business, standards and protocols. The Sr. Manager must be capable of managing multiple projects while maintaining both a strategic and revenue focus. Must help negotiate contracts with and manage external developers.
This position serves as a bridge between engineering, design, content development, marketing, advertising and quality assurance. The Sr Manager is the product champion for assigned areas and is responsible for all aspects of concept, development and delivery of said products. This position is responsible for evangelizing, brainstorming, and documenting new concepts and technologies as needed and setting strategic vision for projects. The individual in this role is considered a product leader, looked to as an expert and relied upon to bring together the right professionals to overcome complex and difficult problems or challenges.
Job Responsibilities
Interface with assigned lines of business to understand their business objectives. Will be key relationship owner for assigned LOB, functioning as the point of contact for all strategic visioning, performance result sharing, and site design tactics. Will translate objectives into a strategic vision for the site, and then a project management plan to executive against the vision. Understands all links-to-site in order to tie together marketing tactics into one master plan. Will understand the assigned LOB top to bottom, attending key LOB meetings on a regular basis.
Manage a production team to ensure quality design and delivery of the site(s) within the strategic vision. Includes overseeing all creative, legal, and technical reviews. May also do day-to-day production as needed for certain sites.
Provides product leadership and responsible for concept, development and delivery of products.
Provides industry expertise and competitive research insight for LOB/Category.
Serves as a communication bridge between internal departments (creative, technology, content for site interfaces; and synergy programs for corss IP/Category campaigns)
Create and maintain budgets and project management timelines for the lifecycle of relevant sites/portfolios
Negotiates contracts, develops requests for proposal (RFPs), and manages vendors
Qualifications for position
College degree or equivalent with work portfolio
Minimum 6 years website production experience
Minimum 3 years project management experience. PMI training or certification desirable.
Contributed to a company's content, processes, procedures and/or technologies for marketing or website efforts
Established communication, people, presentation and organizational skills
Account management experience, in an agency type setting preferred
Excellent leadership skills with the ability to inspire and influence others
Proven ability to set strategic vision and drive business goals
Ability to “evangelize” new concepts and strategies for the site(s)
Ability to carry out complex and difficult negotiations
Strong experience with complex and strategically important initiatives
Knowledge of the interrelationships of internal departments and external clients
Knowledge of general brand development; understanding of Disney Brand preferred
Creative expertise with websites required Demonstrated technical and professional expertise with deep understanding of the company’s business, processes and procedures
Specific Skills Required
Proficiency in all major aspects of website design and production
Experience in building budgets and project management timelines
Ability to build presentations via PowerPoint required
Experience with web analytics required; Omniture experience preferred
Outstanding attention to detail and organizational abilities
Exceptional interpersonal skills
