The Yahoo! Local Team is looking for an experienced, self-motivated, and energetic web developer to join our engineering team. You will be working on building cutting edge web sites and applications for millions of users across Yahoo! focusing on Maps and Local sites. You'll work closely with interaction designers, visual designers, software engineers, product managers and build global ready web applications for Yahoo Maps and Yahoo Local users across the world.

Job Responsibilities

• Create, develop and produce high-quality web pages and components for Yahoo Maps and future products in a fast paced and iterative environment.

• Develop optimized and cross-browser code in HTML and CSS.

• Code primarily using Javascript, PHP, HTML and CSS.

• Collaborate closely with visual and interaction designers, product managers and back-end engineers to implement features and to ensure that the feature achieves the goals.

• Work in rapid 3-4 weeks development cycles.

Minimum Job Qualifications

• BS/MS in Computer Science or a related technical field.

• Minimum of 7+ years industry experience.

• 3+ years of HTML, CSS, AJAX, XML and JavaScript development.

Extensive knowledge of web standards and technologies. Familiar with CSS debugging tool, e.g., Firebug.

• Strong experience with PHP and web technologies including Apache, HTTP, web services APIs

• Well versed with unit testing & debugging techniques, excellent teamwork, communication, and problem solving skills.

• Knowledge of agile development methodology desired.
